The Need for Return to Decency

A great deal is being talked about and obscenities that seem to have taken deep roots in the society of the day. This contagion had been prevalent in the West. From there it has fast travelled to the East which used to be until not too long ago the cradle of modesty, refinement, grace and social considerateness.

Muslims, in particular, were the symbol of decency for they had learnt their lesson from the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah. They were used to regular prayer, and prayer gives security, according to the Holy Qur'an: "Prayer restraints from shameful and unjust deeds." (Qur'an 29: 45)

Shameful deeds or obscenities are end-product of the Devil's workshop. The Holy Qur'an gives a clear warning: "And do not follow the footsteps of Satan, for he is to you an avowed enemy, for he commands you what is evil and shameful." (Qur'an 2: 168-169) more...
